Hurricane Season has begun...are you ready?

Today is the first day of hurricane season, and forecasters are anticipating as many as 14 named storms over the next six months. In Harris County, we know it only takes one event to wreak havoc on our community, which is why we must prepare now for the worst storms.

Our community is at its strongest when each of us does our part. Now is the time to start preparing for the possibility of a storm impacting our area.

·     Make a plan with your household so everyone knows what to do and where to go

·     Build an emergency kit stocked with water, non-perishables, flashlights, a radio, and batteries

·     Sign up for alerts through ReadyHarris.org and HarrisCountyfws.org

ReadyHarris is a great resource for getting prepared. A preparedness guide, available in three languages, has everything you need to get started.
