Trunk or Treat Vehicle Registration, Wooden Pumpkin Decorating, and Volunteer sign-ups are open

With October just a couple of days away, we want to remind everyone that there are plenty of things to do related to our Annual Trunk or Treat and Wicked Woods Trail event hosted by WCID110/Forest Oaks.

Wooden Pumpkin Decorating Contest

For residents wanting to participate and decorate a wooden pumpkin for the event, click on this link.

  • Wooden pumpkins will be ~24"x24"x 1/2" plywood

  • Cost: $10/pumpkin, payment made in Forest Oaks Admin Office.

  • Pick-up between 9/25 and 10/11

  • Submit Pumpkins by Fri., 10/13 at noon.

  • Pumpkins will be displayed throughout the Park and event attendees will vote through QR codes.

Trunk or Treat Vehicle Registration

For residents wanting to participate and decorate your vehicle and hand out candy, click on this link.

  • Plan to have enough candy to pass out over a two hour window and we had ~1,000 attendees in 2022.

  • Limited power is available, so if power is needed, plan on providing your own generator.

  • Vehicles can arrive between 2 - 4:30 p.m. for set-up and decorating, but no vehicles will be allowed in after 4:30 p.m.

  • Awards will be given to the 1st and 2nd Place decorated vehicles in either the car or truck/SUV categories. 1st and 2nd place award winners will be recognized before the outdoor movie and will get a trophy and a Platinum Exterior car wash pass from Mister Car Wash, located at 1631 Louetta Rd.

Volunteer Sign-Up

If you or a group you are involved in would like to volunteer during the event, please use this link.

  • Volunteer opportunities include facilitating games and activities, serving as a scarer or guide for the Wicked Woods Trail, or doing set-up/take-down in the days leading up to or day of the event.

  • There are age restrictions on some volunteer opportunities and we do require any volunteer under the age of 17 to have a signed waiver from a parent or legal guardian.

  • If there is a school group or club that is interested, we are happy to sign off on community service hours for all volunteer hours!

  • Volunteers are NOT required to dress up if they don't want to.

  • All event volunteers will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to Gringos Tex-Mex. Two volunteers will be drawn the week after the event.

We are very excited for this year's event and look forward to having so many of residents and families participate. If you would like more information, check out the event landing page on the District website under Parks and Recreation by scrolling down and clicking on the Trunk or Treat event.
